Save at Grocery Stores

Utilizing grocery stores is a great way to keep costs down while traveling. I often balance eating out at more affordable places with doing many meals from the grocery store. I don’t often cook while traveling but for me this looks like getting breakfast shakes or yogurt and bars for breakfast and pre-made sandwiches or salads for lunch or dinner. To maximize your cheap eats in Ljubljana you can balance going out and grabbing bites from the grocery stores. The main ones in Ljubljana are Lidl, Mercator, Hofer and Spar. We often went to the Lidl by the train/bus station as it was closest to our accommodation but each one will offer a different variety of premade items.
