about me
Hey, I’m Bri—and I’m so glad you’re here.
I started this blog to share things: mainly my photography, practical travel tips, real price breakdowns, and stories from my travels and Northern Michigan. This space is part blog, part photo journal, and part travel research dump.
How It Started
I spent my early twenties hopping between extended trips to England to visit my boyfriend at the time, and working gig jobs and an office job back home. I ended up spending many months in the UK altogether, and it really solidified my love of seeing the world.
But it wasn’t until 2018, when I found myself on my first truly solo trip to Mexico [by accident—read the story here], that a whole new world of travel opened up for me. I was nervous, but I went anyway and I realized that I no longer had to wait for friends or anyone else to travel with: I could go alone. That one trip gave me the confidence to keep going. Since then, travel has been consistent in my life: sometimes solo, sometimes with my partner, and always a little imperfect.
Somewhere along the way I stumbled into the photography world, kind of by accident, and now I work remotely while staying rooted in Northern Michigan.
I never originally set out to build a travel blog. But when I went on that first solo trip, travel blogs helped me so much. I wouldn’t have had the confidence to go without them. Eventually, I realized I had useful stuff to share too: budget tips, real trip takeaways, and tons of photography that I felt like sharing somewhere else besides instagram. This space grew from there.
Beyond the Blog
When I’m not working on the blog, you’ll usually find me by the shores of Lake Michigan, behind a camera, on a yoga mat, or hanging out with friends. (Or, let’s be honest, playing way too much GeoGuessr.)
Thanks for being here. I hope that you’ll find my blog to be a valuable resource for your own journey 🙂
